When I was kid, before I sleep my mother always read me a fairy tale. But these tales are not just a story. That's story is "NARRATIVE TEXT". Do you know what is Narrative Text ?

Narrative Text

Narrative text is which contains about story (fiction/non fiction/tales/folktales/fables/myths/epic) and in is plot consist of climax of the story (complication0 then followed by the resolution.

Generic Structure

- Orientation : it's about who, when, & where the story happened.

- Evaluation : it's optimal, it's usually used to make the story more

interesting.

- Complication : tells the problems of the story & how the main characters solvet them.

- Resolution : tell the ending of the story.

Example :

Cinderella

Orientation :

Once upon a time there was a beautiful and kind girl named Cinderella. She lived with her stepmother and two stepsister. Every day, she was always doing all the housework. Cinderella's mother had died when she was kid and her father remarried to a widow who has two daughters.

Evaluation :

One day, guards came to deliver the invitation of the royal party. Prince invited all the women because he was looking for a woman who deserves to become his wife.

Complication :

Cinderella's stepsister dress with gorgeous to look attractive in the presence of the prince. Cinderella wants to go to the party but she did not have a nice dress to go to the party. Cinderella was crying. Suddenly, heard the sound "Cinderella... Don't cry, I will help you to go to the party." It was a fairy. The fairy asked Cinderella to find a large pumpkin, four rats and two male lizards. When the fairy waved her wand, magic ensued. Pumpkin turned into a golden carriage, four rats were changed to four horses, and two-tailed lizard turned into a two bodyguards. And Cinderella also looks beautiful with her dress is beautiful. Cinderella was very impressed with a beautiful slipper glass given by the fairies. Fairies said, "Cinderella... You're only allowed to have fun at the party until it was only until 12 o'clock tonight, because if the pass of time, then all the magic it's gone." Cinderella just nodded as a sign that he agrees. Cinderella soon got into the golden carriage and immediately went to the kingdom. On arriving at the party, many people are stunned when she saw Cinderella because of her beauty. Prince also stunned with Cinderella. Prince asked Cinderella to dance with him.

Prince intends to make Cinderella as his wife. But suddenly clock tolling that indicating at 12 o'clock and Cinderella had to go home. What was left was a glass slipper left behind in the royal household. Prince was trying to find Cinderella.

Resolution :

Next day, the guards went into the kingdom over the country to find the glass slipper girl owner. At the time of the royal guards arrived at Cinderella's house, Cinderella's stepsister trying to wear glass slipper but it does not fit. But when Cinderella trying to wear that glass slipper, shoes that fit at the foot of Cinderella.
